Brief: Brief set by Macmillian. The brief asked for a proposal for an illustrated children's book. The illustrations had to show a strong grasp of narrative, pacing and characterisation.
Creative Idea: I authored a children's story based around a mouse called Klaus, who was scared to go on an adventure in the big city. I chose to write and illustrate my story from interesting perspectives including Klaus’ own. I wanted the illustrations to have strong compositions and created natural space for the typography to be incorporated. Using a limited colour palette also allowed me to play with tone and texture and create a children's book with a more modern, simple feel.
Disciplines: Illustration, Publishing, Typography, Print and Editorial.
